We’re also considering push notifications for Likes as well. What do you guys think? What else would you want to have notifications for?

What about for links/pingbacks/trackbacks? Or would WP for iOS send those anyways? (as it would be the same for comments).
And would we have to install a plugin for this to work?

Initially I think this is going to be a WordPress.com feature Darnell. But yes, notifications for comments should cover pingbacks/trackbacks. I’ll double check on links.

Thanks Frédéric! That’s definitely going to be in there.

I’d only want push for new comments. I don’t even like the email notifications about likes… if my phone buzzed every time some random person liked a post it would drive me batty, since there’s very little chance I would go to visit their site and check them out (the prompt with like notifications) on my phone browser, whereas I would definitely read and/or moderate a new comment when notified.
I could see using push to notify if a scheduled post went live. That would be handy.

Agreed, the likes feature could get really old really fast for blogs with lots of likes. But I know personally I’d like to receive notifications for my posts, and I think people with blogs that get less traffic might feel the same way.
Maybe we turn it off by default, or turn it off for blogs that average more than X number of likes.
I love the scheduled post goes live idea. Adding it to the list!
