Can I get a code review of r4126? Want to make sure I’m not breaking something else with the sidebar 🙂

Looks good to me, but I’m not at my best today

I went to upload some images and when…

I went to upload some images, and when the custom dialog popped up, I also received the location allow dialog at the same moment. I couldn’t tap on anything until I switched to a different app, and then could respond to the location dialog.

The stats view will now load our new WPWebViewController for urls tapped in the table. I also fixed a bug where /wp-login.php was being added to all URLs in WPWebViewController.

Ran through the survey while having my morning coffee in a café – it’s hard to do it all on a phone! Testing it thoroughly ended up taking almost 2hrs. Got a lot of glitches nailed down though, so that’s “good news”. All of this tested on a .com blog (except adding/removing sites section), iPhone 4, iOS v4.2.1, over slow 3G.

Pages section is in really bad shape. Perhaps not a priority because it’s not used very often by most users, but at least basic editing should work.

Will open tickets where necessary when we’ve discussed further.

Wrote it all down in the survey, but here are the comments for the different steps:

Reply to a comment = Broken

Replying replaces the content of the original comment in the comments list sometimes. Maybe just anon comments? Unsure. Fine on refresh.

    Posts: Overview & Writing
Test modifying the contents of the blog post, including Status = Broken

Changing status is broken, shouldn’t show publish button at all if I’m changing it.. Should only be save. If I change status to draft and publish, status is ignored and it publishes again anyway. If I save it sets it as draft and it’s not on the site, but doesn’t show in my drafts either – just already published posts. This is for a .com blog if that helps..

Adding password for already published blog is broken, only works sometimes. Never saves chars in the field. Changing publish date never saves either.

    Posts: Media, Comments & Miscellaneous
Snap a picture and add it to the post = Broken
Try moderating features on the comments view for a single post = Broken
In Settings, change Publish date, try setting a password = Broken (as reported above)

Uploading a pic and setting a custom size makes the sky fall on the iOS app.. Adds and duplicates content randomly from other posts.

Bulk comment moderation is gone? I think it was there before for a single post?

Pages (pasting all since most were broken)
    Refresh pages = Broken
Create a new page = Works!
    Write some content = Broken
    Publish page = Works!
Page showing up in pages list? = Works!
Create a new page and save it as a local draft = Broken
Page showing up in Local Drafts? = Broken
Change page status, does it show up where it should? = Broken
Try adding some media to a page = Broken
Delete a page (swipe it’s title in the page list) = Broke

Doesn’t load existing pages on view load.

Can’t save as local draft, title formatting weird (capitalizing), missing colons

No landscape mode, no link help

Content input area is too small, doesn’t show bottom content

Changing to draft makes thr page disappear from the list

Trying to upload media crashes the app

Moving to content area requires two taps

Adding images works, but are not saved on publish

Status is inconsistent, uses both draft and local draft terminology

Deleting a page hides recently created posts.. But they show up again on reload.

Bug reports – Anyone on the Beta Team having trouble submitting tickets in Trac? If so, you can just leave a report here as a comment.

Heh! Is our trac login tied to our forum login? If not I don’t remember receiving an ID!

Anyways, I did find a lot of bugs ranging from crashes whenever you upload a video to a WP.org site as well as the inability to scroll down to view more content after you write (scroll bar error perhaps?).

Also whenever I try to change the post from local draft to publish it crashes too. Anything else you need info on? 🙂

Yep – Trac login is tied to your forum login. I just tried to reproduce the inability to scroll issue and couldn’t do it. Were you on Posts or Pages?

Also, try adding this line to your root .htaccess file:

        php_value memory_limit 64M

Darnell – How long was the video you uploaded? There’s some changes you may need to make to your .htaccess file on your WPorg site to get it to work.

Definitely need to talk more about the crashes when it changes from Local Draft to Publish. Could you tell me any more?

Can’t log into the forum or Trac…

Anyways, the issue I’ve already noticed is image ratios on the iPad. You can see the obviously stretched image at http://suthdevtest.wordpress.com/

Another thing is that after tapping on an image in the media tab to view it full screen, there’s no back button… it took me a moment to figure out the delete button did the equivalent.

When adding an image to a page, there’s no Save button until I modify the text, which people might think means it’s already saved or just not know how to save. I don’t have this problem when adding an image to a regular post.

And a couple other little things…

Lots of crashes after dealing with media.

It seems like you’re aware of this, but preview isn’t working for me. Using a WordPress.com blog with the TwentyTen theme. No message, just a blank page when I choose preview.

      Keep up the good work!

One thing I have noticed. I just loaded up my blog, I know there is an article waiting to be published, but I don’t see it. The list of articles spans ALL articles now with no press to load more button, and no pending articles.

    • nazaroth 12:55 pm on September 12, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Ok please ignore my last post :/

I do have another bug though, when writing an article, when the text gets to the bottom of the window, it will keep going but I am no longer able to see what I am writing and cannot scroll down to see.

    • nazaroth 1:18 pm on September 12, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Also after writing some text in a new article, if I then try to add some media, the “+” button is covered by the wordpress logo that shows auto saves, so I am unable to press the “+” button.

Odd. I thought I’d subscribed to this thread?! I’ll check my spam box (sorry for the belated response).

I’ll see about editing my .htcacess Chris, although I’ll be switching hosts in s month as my current one is slowing down.

As far as posting goes, video uploads (regardless of size crash, and I am unable to scroll down within the app.

I’ll see if I can reproduce these upon a WP.com site.
